On December 19, the LILC hosted the launch event for the Land Information Working Group’s annual calendar, which is distributed to thousands of villagers across the country to educate them about land rights and land issues. Over fifty people attended the event from civil society, academia, and government. Nearly 3,000 calendars have already been ordered and printed and will be distributed by LIWG members, with more copies being printed throughout the year. The LILC ordered 100 calendars, which we will send to our partners and villagers in target communities across the country.

Previews of calendar pages for the 2018 LIWG calendar

Mr. Soulinda introduces the 2018 calendar at the launch event, held at the LILC.

The LIWG calendar has been produced annually for the past nine years, providing legal resources and information to villagers who often lack access to knowledge about their rights. The calendar is developed and distributed by a group of dozens of civil society and government organizations working in Laos, and has proven to be an innovative, useful, and effective way to spread information about justice beyond Vientiane.
